- Uses
Generic Suprax (Cefixime) is a cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits development and spreading of bacteria in the body and thus offers relief for bacterial infections. However, it is not intended for treatment of viral infections, e.g. flu or common cold.
- How to take
Generic Suprax is administered orally with a full glass of water, during meals or otherwise. Individual prescriptions shall be defined by your doctor. The dosage can be changed to better match the progress of your illness.
- Side effects
Familiarize yourself with the ingredients of Generic Suprax beforehand to make sure none of them will cause an allergic reaction. If you experience any symptoms associated with allergies such as difficulty breathing, hives, swollen tongue etc., stop using the medication and seek urgent medical help.
Common side effects of taking Generic Suprax include: nausea and vomiting; diarrhea, stomach gas or pain, upset stomach; headaches or dizziness.
Contact a medical specialist immediately if you experience any of the following: acute abdominal pain or cramps; severe diarrhea; bloody, dark or mucus-filled stools; severe nausea or vomiting; tiredness; increased bruising or bleeding; flu symptoms such as sore throat or high temperature, mouth sores; urination irregularities; disorientation; irregular vaginal discharge or yeast infection; yellow-colored skin or eyes.

Familiarize yourself with the ingredients of Generic Suprax beforehand to make sure none of them will cause an allergic reaction. Notify your doctor prior to taking the medication if you are allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics or penicillin.
Do not combine Generic Suprax with laxatives without prior medical consult.
Notify your doctor of any medications you are taking (including vitamins, herbal supplements, and over the counter medications), especially: blood thinners (including warfarin), probenecid, live bacterial vaccines, birth control mediations (pills, patches, rings, etc.), rifampin, rifamycins or rifabutin. - Missed dose
If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you have missed.
- Storage
Generic Suprax should be stored in a cool dry place, away from moisture and heat, and out of reach of children and pets. Do not use the medication upon expiration.
