Diflucan (Generic)
Diflucan (Fluconazole) is an antibiotic prescribed for treatment of yeast, urinary tract and AIDS cryptoccal infections, pneumonia and peritonitis. The medication attacks fungi by impeding the formation of fungal cell membrane. Stay healthy and fungi-free with Generic Diflucan.

- Uses
Diflucan (Fluconazole) is prescribed to fight off infections caused by mouth, throat, bladder, esophagus, lungs, blood and genitalia infections. Generic Diflucan is also used for prophylactic purposes to prevent fungal infections in patients with immune systems weakened by cancer treatments, transplant of bone marrow, AIDS and other diseases.
- How to take
Diflucan (Fluconazole) should be taken regularly during meals or otherwise, preferably at a predefined time. Do not stop taking the medication even if the symptoms you are suffering from have subdued. Wait for at least two hours after taking the medication before taking proton pump inhibitors.
- Side effects
If you experience any symptoms associated with allergies (highly unlikely) such as difficulty breathing, hives, swollen tongue etc., stop using the medication and seek urgent medical help.Common side effects of using Diflucan include dizziness, taste changes, headache, nausea, pain in the stomach. Notify your doctor if any of the abovementioned effects persist.
Contact your medical specialist immediately if you experience any of the following: diarrhea, large patches of red or scaly skin, swollen or highly tender abdomen, vomiting, yellow-colored skin or eyes. - Precautions
Taking Diflucan may cause dizziness, especially if combined with alcohol or certain drugs. Do not perform activities that require mental alertness after taking the medication if its effect on your is still unknown. In rare patients with serious medical conditions, Diflucan has been known to cause major liver damage.
If you get pregnant in the course of taking Diflucan, consult your doctor concerning the possibility of continuing the course. Diflucan may pass into breast milk.
Notify your doctor if any of the following conditions apply to you: allergic to medicines or other substances, especially other azole antifungals; have a weak immune system, liver or kidney disease; have uneven heartbeat. - Drug interactions
Inform your doctor if you are taking any medications, especially: aldosterone blockers (eplerenone), amiodarone, cisapride, astemizole, pimozide, macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin), serotonin receptor agonists (eletriptan), terfenadine or quinolones, benzodiazepines (alprazolam), anticoagulants (warfarin), buspirone, cyclophosphamide, carbamazepine, ergot alkaloids (ergotamine), cyclosporine, haloperidol, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (simvastatin), methadone, hydantoins (phenytoin), muscarinic antagonists (solifenacin, tolterodine), ramelteon, narcotics (codeine), theophylline, sulfonylureas (glipizide), tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline), as combining them with Diflucan may increase the probability of its side effects. The medication may interact with other drugs as well. Dot not start or end the course of Diflucan without prior medical consult.
- Missed dose
If you have missed your dose of Diflucan, make sure to take it as soon as possible. However, two doses should never be taken at the same time, so if the time for the next dose has almost come, DO NOT take the dose you have missed.
- Storage
Diflucan should be stored at the temperature under 86°F (30°C) away from moisture and light, out of reach of children and pets. Avoid storing the medication in the bathroom.
