Avanafil

Avanafil is an erectile dysfunction medication, which has recently appeared on the market. Due to its fast mechanism of action (30-60 minutes faster than other medications of the same category), it is more in-demand than Viagra and Cialis. Avanafil is administered orally and works to tackle the main problem of the erectile dysfunction - inhibited expanding of blood vessels. By inhibiting the activity of protein, it helps blood vessels to expand and move to genitals.

Avanafil should be administered orally 30 minutes prior to sexual activity, with food or otherwise. Do not take two doses of Avanafil within a 24-hour period.

DO not use the medication if you are allergic to it. If you experience any symptoms associated with allergies such as difficulty breathing, hives, swollen tongue etc., stop using the medication and seek urgent medical help.

Contact your medical specialist immediately if you experience any of the following: vision or hearing problems (ringing); chest pain, heavy heart beating or fluttering sensation in your chest; leg pain, swollen or red-colored hands or feet; shortness of breath; dizziness or losing consciousness; more than 4-hour, painful erection; pain, numbness or tingling sensation in your arms, neck, jaw or chest during sex.

Common side effects of Avanafil include: redness or higher temperature of face, neck, or chest; dizziness or headache; common symptoms of cold; digestion problems; pain in the back.

Note that this list does not include all possible side effects. Other side effects might occur depending on individual health conditions.

Avoid drinking more than 3 alcoholic beverages while taking Avanafil as it may lead to stronger side effects. Grapefruit may also interact with Avanafil and increase the possibility of side effects.

Do not combine Avanafil with other erectile dysfunction medications such as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis. Note that Avanafil does not provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases.

Notify your medical specialist of all medications you have been or are using before starting the course of Avanafil, especially imatinib (Gleevec), isoniazid, conivaptan (Vaprisol), rifabutin (Mycobutin), nefazodone, rifapentine (Priftin) or rifampin (Rifadin, Rifater, Rimactane Rifamate); antibiotics such as erythromycin (E.E.S., EryPed, Ery-Tab, Pediazole), clarithromycin (Biaxin), or telithromycin (Ketek); antifungal medications e.g. ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), miconazole (Oravig), posaconazole (Noxafil) or voriconazole (Vfend); barbiturates e.g. phenobarbital (Solfoton); antidepressants like nefazodone; high blood pressure or a prostate disorder medications, such as alfuzosin (Uroxatral), prazosin (Minipress), doxazosin (Cardura), silodosin (Rapaflo), terazosin (Hytrin) or tamsulosin (Flomax, Jalyn); heart medications such as amlodipine (Norvasc, Lotrel, Exforge, Caduet, Tekamlo, Twynsta, Tribenzor, Amturnide), diltiazem (Cardizem, Diltia, Dilacor, Cartia, Taztia, Diltzac, Tiazac), enalapril (Vasotec), nifedipine (Nifedical, Procardia), nicardipine (Cardene), quinidine (Quin-G), verapamil (Calan, Verelan, , Isoptin, Tarka Covera); HIV or AIDS treatment medications such as darunavir (Prezista), atazanavir (Reyataz), , efavirenz (Sustiva), delavirdine (Rescriptor) etravirine (Intelence), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), nevirapine (Viramune), nelfinavir (Viracept), indinavir (Crixivan), ritonavir (Norvir, Kaletra), or saquinavir (Invirase); medications to fight seizures such as carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Equetro, Tegretol) and phenytoin (Dilantin); hepatitis C medications or telaprevir (Incivek) or boceprevir (Victrelis).

Other medications may have interactions with Avanafil.

As Avanafil is not taken on a regular basis, missed dose regulations do not apply. However, avoid exceeding the prescribed dose and taking two doses within a 24-hour period.

Store Avanafil at temperatures between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C) away from moisture and sunlight, out of reach of children and pets.
