Differin (Generic)

Generic Differin (adapalene) is a retinoid acne treatment that is made to heal the appearance and reduce the production of acne pimples. Generic Differin works to stop the growth of cells that cause acne, and reduce the inflammation and swelling associated with damaged skin. This medicated solution acts similarly to vitamin A to heal the skin at the surface level, while working to renew damage. Generic Differin is recommended for patients over 12 years of age.

Clean skin with a mild cleanser and pat dry before use. Apply a thin layer of Generic Differin to clean skin once each evening. Do not use other face creams or products in combination with Generic Differin unless advised otherwise by a doctor. Contact your doctor for the precise instructions that apply to you. Wash hands well after each application. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth.

Do not stop taking this medication without first speaking to your doctor, as suddenly halting treatment may worsen your condition.

Avoid direct sunlight, prolonged sun exposure sunlamps and tanning beds when taking Generic Differin, as skin may become more sensitive as a result of taking this treatment. Wear sunscreen and protective clothing when in direct sun light.

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or plan on becoming pregnant before taking this medication.

Avoid using products that contain glycolic acid or alpha hydroxyl when being treated with Generic Differin.
