Ceftin (Generic)

Generic Ceftin (cefuroxime axetil) is classified under the cephalosporin family of drugs. Generic Ceftin is made to treat a variety of infections caused by bacteria, including several life-threatening contaminations. Generic Ceftin is most of used to treat infections in the skin, throat, ear, lung, and sinus. This medication is also prescribed to treat sexually transmitted diseases including gonorrhea. • chest pain, irregular heartbeat; bloody or watery diarrhea; blood bound in urine; convulsions or seizures; unusual bleeding; jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); discolored or darker urine, fever, disorientation or weakness; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; blistering, numbness, muscle pain or weakness, bruising or an unusual tingling sensation; swollen glands, rash or itching, joint pain, or general ill feeling; increased thirst, loss of appetite, swelling, weight gain, feeling short of breath,; inability to urinate, or urinating less than usual or not at all; or sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash.

Less urgent side-effects associated with Generic Ceftin:

• cough, stuff nose, muscle pain, stiffness or tightness, mild dizziness, joint pain or swelling, dry mouth, mouth sores, unusual taste in the mouth, upset stomach, nausea, mild diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, fatigue, headache, hyperactivity, mild skin rash or itching or the skin, or vaginal discharge.

Before taking Generic Ceftin, consult your doctor if you have a history of any of the following medical conditions:

Do not take Generic Ceftin if you are allergic to cefuroxime or other cephalosporin antibiotics including:
Cefaclor (Raniclor);; cefadroxil (Duricef); cefazolin (Ancef); ceftibuten (Cedax); cefuroxime (Ceftin); cefpodoxime (Vantin); cefprozil (Cefzil); cefdinir (Omnicef); cefditoren (Spectracef); cephalexin (Keflex); or cephradine (Velosef); and others.

Consult your doctor if you are taking any of the medications listed below before starting to take Generic Ceftin:
blood thinners such as warfarin, probenecid, diuretics (water pill), or any medication that reduces stomach acid.

Always inform your doctor of any medications you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements) before embarking on a new treatment. Additional medications not listen here may interact negatively with your medication.

Do not take more than your recommended dosage. Take missed doses as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next treatment.

Store Generic Ceftin in a cool, dry place away from heat and moisture. Dispose of any unused medication past the point of expiry. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
